Welcome to
Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church
Brookfield, MO
Our parish was founded in 1859 by Father John J. Hogan and the first church was built around that time through the generosity of citizens and men who worked on the railroad.
The current church was built in 1894 at a cost of $25K. Many renovations have been done over the years with the most recent done around 2015-2016.
A Catholic school was first opened in 1871 and the current school building was built finished in 1963. We no longer hold school in the building but rent to two Head Start programs which help maintain it and keep the space active.
We have had many pastors over the years but for nearly 20 years we had been in the care of religious women who were titled as Parish Life Collaborators. Sister Mary Rost of the School Sisters of Notre Dame was in leadership from July of 2018 to July 2024. She now has the title of Pastoral Associate. Father Pascal Ihediohamma now serves as our Parochial Administrator that we share with the Marceline, Mendon and Indian Grove parishes.
The Immaculate Conception Parish family is like most small town churches, one that is connected by many family members and long time friends. Families who have attended this church for generations and those who are new to the community.
Our hope is that if you have moved to this community and are looking for a spiritual home, you will come and worship with us and become part of our family.
